They're DONE FOR THE YEAR! JBE has completed both ISAT and IRI state assessments. We are pleased with the outcome. Last year JBE's Math scores weren't as strong as I had hoped for. We put a plan in place for the month preceding the testing and it proved to be effective based on these results. JBE continues to see yearly growth in Reading, Math, and Language Usage. This week all our students will be doing one more formal district-wide writing assessment. We have been practice writing all year so I'm sure our students will do well.
Last week your child brought home a parent input letter. If you haven't already done so, please return this important information form completed with your input.This shared info helps us with decision making for next year's classroom placement.
I and our staff want to thank you for the wonderful luncheon that PTU provided us on Friday for Staff Appreciation Week. What a treat it was! Obviously not a day for a diet!! Oh well, there's always next week to start one AGAIN!
We are at that time of the year again where many school-wide as well as grade level specific activities/field trips are happening through the remainder of the school year. Your teacher will inform you of these events. As always, we love parent involvement. If you can help with an activity, please let your teacher know you would like to volunteer. We have a lot to celebrate so these special events should be fun for everyone. Now, if we can convince the weather to cooperate.
If you know of anyone that has a child entering Kindergarten next year, please remind them that Wednesday is Kindergarten Registration at JBE in the Library. Of course we will take registrants throughout the remainder of the year. This helps us prepare with the necessary number of teachers and sections for next year.
We started our annual "Buy One Get One Free" Book Fair today. It will end Thursday after school. This is a great opportunity for you to stock up on your child's summer reading materials. It is open from 8:00 - 3:15 all four days. Remember, we don't have school this Friday.
Sorry to end this message on a sad note, but we have three teachers that will not be returning next year. Mrs. Allyson Tedrow has been JBE's Physical Education teacher for the past nine years. Mrs. Karen Power has been serving students in our Title 1 Program for 6 years and has been teaching in our district for 20 years! We are also saying goodbye to Mrs. Carla Madrid. In her short three years at JBE she has taught both Kindergarten and Sixth Grades.
